Amino Acid L- Alanine (Beta Alanine) Benefits and Side Effects

Beta alanine is a non-essential amino acid, meaning that it can be produced by the body and one does not need to get it through outside sources such as food, or other supplements.  Amino acids in general are the building blocks of proteins, however, some amino acids like beta-alanine are used to produce other chemicals in the body.

L- Alanine Has Been Reported To Help With Fatigue

This particular amino acid is often used for improving athletic performance and building lean muscle mass in younger adults as well as improving active performance in the elderly.  Scientific studies report that while using beta alanine can have some small improvement in athletic performance, in a lot of cases they don’t not agree with the fact the beta alanine has any effect on the improvement of athletic performance. However such scientific studies also believe that beta alanine may have the ability to improve the amount of exercise that someone does but not actually increase the exercise performance.

There has been believes that beta alanine has helped with symptoms of menopause, age related muscle loss, as well as other conditions
L- Alanine Has Been Reported To Help With Lifting More Weight

There has been believes that beta alanine has helped with symptoms of menopause, age related muscle loss, as well as other conditions, however there is insufficient scientific evidence to support those claims. Beta alanine has been proved possibly safe when taken by mouth in the correct dosages, however high dosages when taken a liquid or powder solution rather than a tablet can cause flushing and tingling.

There has been a number of reports for those that lift heavy weights that a significant difference in the delaying of muscle fatigue has been noticed as well as the ability to lift more weight than before its use.  These are not scientific findings, but merely a result of a survey amongst those that use beta alanine. Additionally many individuals 50 years of age and older have reported that beta alanine has been a key element in combating fatigue.
